ABOUT DISTRICT COURT

Kolasib District is 5th of the 11 districts of Mizoram State in India. The geographical location of Kolasib District is: 24°13'25.97"N, 92°40'43.28"E. The district is bounded on the North and Northwest by Hailakandi District of Assam State, on the West by Mamit District, on the South and East by Aizawl District and on the Northeast by Cachar District of Assam State. The district occupies an area of 1382.51 km². Kolasib town is the administrative headquarters of the district.

Kolasib District was under the guidance of Additional District Magistrate (Judicial) and accommodated at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kolasib till 2008. However, upon completion of the District Court building at Venglai, Kolasib, it was shifted to the present building on 31st October, 2008.
Fast Track Court, Kolasib was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Michael Zothankhuma, Judge, Gauhati High Court on 2nd November, 2016.
